The Split Second Competition was launched by TAC and TABOO in 2018, giving young Victorians the chance to use their creativity to save lives on our roads. Each year, Split Second calls 18-24 year olds to submit a film concept to tackle a road safety issue. With hundreds of scripts being written each year, the competition allows young Victorians to use their creativity for good and be part of the solution to road safety by giving a new perspective on how it’s communicated.
Now in it’s 5th consecutive year, each competitions’ winning script is funded and brought to life through a collaborative creative process involving the winner, TABOO, road safety experts and a leading production company. Each film is aired in cinemas across Victoria through a cinema partnership, educating all Victorians on road safety from the viewpoint of young road users.
